Hi there! I’m Elio, a software engineer currently working for Jimdo, a german company that aims to empower self-employed people and help them thrive. In the past, I’ve worked for Reconnect, Automattic, and Themify, all great companies.
My serious journey on the Internet started on 2007, when I started using WordPress, the content management system that runs 33% of the web. On 2008, I started a design blog (that I closed a few years ago) called I Love Colors, that gained a lot of recognition due to its design. I wrote on Smashing Magazine, won contests, gave away icons and other stuff in Tutorial9, got interviewed in Noupe, wrote for a WordPress book and many other things.
I’ve been actively involved with WordPress for more than a decade, you can check my profile on WordPress.org, and during that time, I’ve:
- contributed to WordPress core
- contributed to the Gutenberg editor
- published and contributed to plugins on WordPress.org
- co-founded wpargentina.org, the WordPress community in Argentina
- ran WordPress meetups in my city
- spoke in 8 WordCamps in 5 countries, among other conferences
- was an MC at the WordCamp US 2017
- had the honor to speak at the WordCamp Europe 2019 in Berlin
- spoke at the JavaScript for WP 2020 online conference
Whenever I’m not coding, I love traveling, hiking, and generally spend spend time in the countryside. I love photography, and you can see some of my photos on Instagram.
